Private UX/UI project
During an UX project a while ago, I made research on the identities and digital designs for some of the main gym chains in Sweden. I got chocked when I first saw the Friskis & Svettis app, which is so very far from the design and effort put in the brand identity and website. I decided to make something better, just for fun…
I based the UI for this app on the brand identity, which I found on the website and made some tweaks to which I found suitable. The UX answers to three main issues; Embrace the brand philosophy. Make it simple to find and add workouts and edit your own schedule. Find all the information you want, easily.
The website of Friskis & Svettis today (left) is designed according to the brand identity and it goes along with what you see when visiting a gym. But when it comes to the app for the service (right), it has far from the same thoughtful appearance and its rating in App Store is beyond what I believe Friskis & Svettis wants from their users… So this challenge I wanted to do something about. I got inspired by the tonality and the identity of the brand and saw a possibility to create a structured and appealing app that could actually inspire the user and help towards a seamless experience.
DEFINE THE IDENTITY
I simply picked colors from the website to create a united color palette and gradients for the upcoming app design.
Step by step introduction of the new app.
